Q1 2021 U.S. Performance of Top Arcade Racing Android Apps

The arcade racing genre on Android has always been competitive and full of speed. Let's dive into the performance of the top five arcade racing apps in the United States for the first quarter of 2021, with data provided by Sensor Tower.

VOODOO's Shortcut Run kicked off the quarter with a slight decrease in revenue from $353K to $132K, downloads showing a dip from 200K to 76K, and weekly active users (WAUs) reducing from 292K to 245K. Despite these trends, the game showed resilience with numbers indicating a steady interest among players.

Another title from VOODOO, aquapark.io, had no reported revenue until late February when it picked up modestly, reaching $128K before dropping again. Downloads for the game started at 139K and rose to 69K by the end of Q1, while WAUs saw a decline from 823K to 480K.

Wacky Run, also from the French publisher VOODOO, showed a downward trend in revenue from $581K at the beginning of the quarter to zero by the end. Downloads decreased from 237K to just over 9K, and WAUs followed suit, dropping from 491K to 81K.

Zynga's Gear Race 3D had no reported revenue throughout the quarter. However, the game's downloads witnessed a decline from 274K to 12K, and WAUs saw a sharp decrease from 335K to 26K, suggesting a drop in the game's popularity over the period.

Lastly, VOODOO's Scribble Rider experienced a decrease in revenue, from $617K to $200K. Downloads saw an initial decline from 188K to 24K, followed by a slight uptick towards the end of the quarter. WAUs also decreased from 401K to 124K, indicating a loss of active engagement but with a potential rebound in sight.
